Nairobi (and surrounding slum areas - Muthiga, Dagoretti, Lenana & Karangware), is where Pamoja started its work, and is where the country co-ordinator, Rev. Daniel Mathuva, lives with his wife Priscilla. Priscilla is the education sponsorship programme co-ordinator in Kenya. Pamoja runs education sponsorship and micro-finance schemes in these areas and emergency feeding programmes as needed. Pamoja is also sponsoring 4 young men to do a correspondence theological training course.
Tom, who is a Sudanese refugee, was sponsored by Pamoja to attend Bible college in Kenya, and has now returned to Sudan with his wife to do church work. Our dream would be to set up a Pamoja School that would be self sustaining and provide income to support the Orphans. As in all the projects we are looking for ways for the children to be able to make a living when they leave school. We would like them to have not just an education but the means to provide for themselves, perhaps by supporting vocational training for them.
